Kirksville Missouri police have arrested a man wanted for shooting at bail enforcement agents in Ottumwa.
According to a press release, Joseph Bibby, 29, of Ottumwa was arrested following a seven-hour standoff with Kirksville police.
At approximately 10:45 Tuesday night, a Kirksville police officer attempted to stop Bibby, who was riding an unlicensed motorcycle.
Bibby fled, eventually stopping and running into a nearby ditch on foot. He fired one shot at officers from a semi-automatic pistol.
It was three hours before officers were able to locate and make contact with Bibby. Four hours of negotiations with Kirksville Police and an FBI agent resulted in Bibby dropping his weapon and surrendering at around 6:30 this morning.
Last week, Ottumwa police alerted the public that Bibby was wanted and considered armed and dangerous. He shot at bond enforcement agents on Wednesday, June 29th. The agents were attempting to arrest Bibby on an outstanding warrant for probation violations.
