OTTUMWA – Beverly J. Davison, 93, of Ottumwa, died at 12:43 a.m. April 9, 2017 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born March 15, 1924 in Chariton, IA to Thomas K. and Nora F. Woodman Kendall. She married Edward Davison on December 6, 1945 in Chariton and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1961.
Beverly received a scholarship to Ottumwa Heights Academy and graduated from the Academy. She worked for 42 years for Western Union, retiring as manager from the Des Moines office in 1984.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar & Rosary Society, Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, a lifetime member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #3 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #114 Auxiliary. Beverly was past-president of St. Patrick School P.T.A. and served as district president of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving is her daughter, Nancy (Clarence) Becker of Hawk Point, MO; two grandsons, Michael E. Becker and Andrew J. Becker both of Hawk Point, MO; 3 great-grandchildren, Ashley Becker, Anthonie Becker and Johnathan Becker; and a step-brother, Bill (Darlene) Croft of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a service conducted by O.B. Nelson Unit #3 American Legion Auxiliary.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home. A Christian Wake will be held at 6 p.m. Monday followed by family visitation until 8 p.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to O.B. Nelson Unit #3 American Legion Auxiliary.
