Albia Store Burglarized Overnight

A business in Albia was robbed over the night between October 4 and October 5.

The burglar broke into Inspire U Bake Shoppe & Specialty Catering and stole various items. According to Sue Clark, the owner of the business, the thief stole around 2,000 dollars worth of electronics and cash. Along with that, he also stole cookies. He left the house in a state of destruction after breaking the glass door to enter, getting cooking oil all over the place and sleeping on the couch.

“I have no flippin’ idea,” Clark said when asked why the randomness of the break-in.

She reported to the Monroe Sheriff’s Department and they incident is currently under investigation. The store will be closed for all of Friday and the weekend, but Clark hopes to open on Monday.

“Just don’t be too trusting, it’s scary what the world’s come to,” Clark said. “They are probably gonna use the money to buy drugs. There seems to be an epidemic of that in the area unfortunately.”
