Poll Seeks What’s Best in Fairfield

By Jason Van Arkel, April 19, 2018

The Fairfield Convention and Visitors’ Bureau wants to know what residents think are the best places in Fairfield are to eat, drink, hang out, rock out, and snap a selfie. The bureau has crafted a short survey at TravelFairfield.com to identify Fairfield’s best restaurant, best restaurant with an international flair, best shopping experience, best bar/pub experience, best live music venue and favorite place to take an “iconic” selfie.

“Visitors are seeking memorable and enjoyable experiences, and Fairfield has those spots that provide unique adventures. It’s time, as we prepare for May’s Tourism Month, to award the buzz creators, the places that bring smiles to faces and help residents relax and enjoy life,” said Rustin Lippincott, Fairfield Convention & Visitor Bureau director. “It’s about outstanding tourism products, and we have established quick poll that gives people a chance for their voices to be heard.”

The Best Restaurant category is intended to celebrate an eating establishment that exhibits excellence in service, an attentive staff with a positive attitude, quality food and beverage options, ambience, and the ability to offer a memorable experience. The Best Restaurant With an International Menu category is similar to the Best Restaurant category, and is designed to display options to travel to another country and not even leave Jefferson County.

The Best Shopping Experience category celebrates those retailers whose businesses enhance Fairfield’s reputation as a unique destination, exhibiting excellence in service, community involvement and the ability to make their customers smile with a vibe that represents Fairfield. The Best Bar/Pub category spotlights how Fairfield’s options, although low on quantity, are high on quality, offering experiences far exceeding our size. The Favorite Live Venue category gives the small music club a chance to make a loud noise as an experience creator.

The final question in the poll is the best or favorite spot in Fairfield to take a selfie. Everyone is inundated with lists; places to stay, places to eat, places to shop, things to read, to listen to, but there has yet to be a list of the best places to take a selfie, until now.

“We say tourism is the first date to people moving to Fairfield,” said Lippincott. “It’s important to our residents to have great places for date night, to entertain clients and take your family when they visit. We want to know what those places are for people.”
