Melissa wears many hats at Ottumwa Radio.  Not only is she the KBIZ Morning Show Co-host but she’s also the Operations Manager, office mom, snack supplier and keeper of the Ibuprofen.  Tune in 1240 AM or 102.7 FM KBIZ, Monday through Friday, to hear stories about her crazy life and her scarves, …many, many scarves.  Melissa has been with Ottumwa Radio since 2012.  When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, camping, or just about anything outdoors.

Nick Davis

       Nick Davis

 Nick Davis is the on-scene reporter for Ottumwa Radio. An Ottumwa native, Nick graduated from Ottumwa High School in the class of 2008, and Indian Hills Community College in the class of 2011. He got his start in radio during college running a soundboard for high school sports. He moved to the news department in the winter of 2014/15 and hasn’t looked back since. In addition to his duties in news Nick manages many aspects of, Ottumwa Radio on Social Media and is currently filling in as the host of the KBIZ Dialogue Program.

Jason Van Arkel

 Jason is one of southeast Iowa’s most experienced sports broadcasters. His radio career began in Omaha back in 1999, working as the staff reporter covering Nebraska Cornhusker football. He’s spent well over a decade on the microphone as a play-by-play announcer, broadcasting everything from high school sports to college basketball, along with three seasons of minor league baseball. Since coming to Ottumwa Radio in late 2011, Jason has served as the voice of Ottumwa High football, basketball, baseball and softball on KBIZ. You’ll also find him reporting from the state wrestling meet each winter, and the state track meet each spring. In addition, Jason regularly provides on-site coverage for both the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones, reporting regularly from Kinnick Stadium, Jack Trice Stadium, Hilton Coliseum and Carver-Hawkeye Arena, as well as select road games.

Doug is passionate about radio. Ever since he was a freshman at Heidelberg College in Ohio, he has made it his life’s work to create quality programming that entertains, engages and enriche s radio listeners. Evan Haning hosts the morning news magazine First Light and also anchors morning drive time reports for Westwood One News.  He   has been on the air in Washington, DC for 30 years.  For nearly a decade, he was a reporter and anchor for WTOP, one of the leading all news stations in the country.  Most recently, he anchored afternoon drive for CBS’s WNEW-FM since it launched in 2012.  At WRC-AM in the 1980’s and ’90’s, he worked alongside some of the most interesting talk radio personalities in America. He also spent more than seven years behind the scenes and behind the mic on the internationally-syndicated Dr. Gabe Mirkin Show.  In addition, Evan fills in for Westwood One’s Jim Bohannon on America in the Morning
